Welding Engineer - Hudsonville Area

• →Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in accordance with industry codes and client specifications.
• →Provide technical support and expertise to production, quality, and engineering teams on welding-related issues.
• →Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects and non-conformances.
• →Evaluate and select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various applications.
• →Oversee welder qualification and certification programs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• →Collaborate with design engineers to optimize weld designs for manufacturability, cost, and performance.

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on welding processes and metallurgy.
• AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) or equivalent certification.
• Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW) and their application to different materials.
• Strong understanding of welding codes, standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX), and quality control procedures.
• Experience with root cause analysis, non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, and material characterization.

• AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software for fixture design and analysis.
• Experience with robotic welding systems and programming.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
