The Brasserie is an award-winning 80-seat fine dining restaurant in Grand Cayman with a fantastic reputation for its farm-to-table cuisine. Adjoining the restaurant is an upscale bistro-style market and coffee shop, an outdoor juice bar, and a quick, casual open air, fire grill BBQ.

 

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Helper/Dishwasher to join our food service team! In this role, you will assist with routine kitchen tasks under the guidance of a supervisor or lead. Your primary responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, utensils, and equipment to ensure they remain in proper condition. Additionally, you may support basic food preparation as needed.

Key responsibilities are, but not limited to: 

  • Manually washing large pots and dishes.
  • Ensuring the kitchen and workstation are clean and sanitized at all times.
  • Cleaning and maintaining back areas and appliances.
  • Upholding high hygiene standards for the kitchen and its equipment.
  • Assisting with basic food preparation as needed.
  • Following cleaning and safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintaining effective communication among staff in a secure and friendly environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective interdepartmental working relationships.
  • Serving customers in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Keeping the workspace, equipment, and utensils clean and organized at all times.
  • Upholding the company’s cleanliness standards.
  • Maintaining impeccable personal presentation and uniforms at all times.
  • Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Staying organized and effectively managing the workspace.
  • Providing feedback and reporting issues as they arise.
  • Consistently displaying a positive, "can-do" attitude.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
  • Carrying out any additional tasks required by management.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a restaurant.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation.
  • Ability to speak, write, and comprehend English fluently.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure and professionalism.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multicultural team.
  • Energy, enthusiasm, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
  • Availability to work split shifts starting at 6:30 AM on weekdays.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as needed.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.


This position is open to Caymanians, Permanent Residents or RERC Holders only. Applicants must provide two verifiable references and a valid police clearance issued within the past six months. The successful candidate will be required to work 45 hours per week, including evening shifts and weekends.
