Salary: $48,000.00 per year, based on qualifications
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Status: Exempt Regular Full-Time

Minimum Requirements:

- Have a minimum of a bachelor's degree.
- PRAXIS tests (as outlined below)
Experience:
- Prior teaching experience preferred but not required

General Purpose:
- The Grades 4-6 Elementary Math & Science teacher is responsible for developing students’ academic excellence and virtue by creating a positive culture of inquiry and learning and providing students with challenging and meaningful learning activities and experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Faithfully implements instruction
- Delivers effective instruction
- Manages classroom climate and operation
- Promotes achievement
Subject matter knowledge:
- Advanced principles and concepts of biology, physical science, earth science, and astronomy appropriate to the elementary school curriculum; principles and procedures of scientific inquiry; history of major scientific and technological discoveries or inventions; laboratory techniques, safety issues related to science labs and investigations
- Plans curriculum and instruction
- Delivers effective instruction
- Manages classroom climate and operation
- Promotes achievement
- Meets professional responsibilities
Teacher Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Model and support students in developing virtuous character
- Support the school's mission through fidelity to policies and practices
- Teach assigned science groups
- Deliver effective instruction that promotes achievement
- Create a positive culture of inquiry and learning
Educational Requirements:
- Four-year degree
- Passing scores on the following tests if bachelor's degree is not in the same field as the position:
- PRAXIS 5205 (Reading), PRAXIS 5903 (Math), PRAXIS 5905 (Science)
- PRAXIS tests must be accomplished within 90 days of start date
- Fees for passed tests will be reimbursed
- PRAXIS 5205 (Reading), PRAXIS 5903 (Math), PRAXIS 5905 (Science)
