Veterinary Nurse

About the role

We’re on the hunt for a Diploma qualified Veterinary Nurse, with at least two years experience, to provide exceptional nursing care and support to our patients.

What you’ll do:

• Carry out veterinary nursing procedures under the guidance of our talented veterinarians
• Assist with surgical procedures and monitor anaesthesia 
• Collect and submit diagnostic samples
• Assist with X-rays.
• Patient monitoring and treatment.
• IV catheter placement 
• Conduct veterinary nurse consults, offering pet owners guidance on pet healthcare, nutrition and wellbeing

You’re a motivated, compassionate and positive individual who can effortlessly juggle a range of veterinary nurse tasks. With a can-do and will-do mindset, you consistently aim to enhance customer experience, ensuring the best care for your patients.

We are a fast-growing mixed veterinary practice, providing services to both companion and production animals, with close to 50 employees. Formerly the Otamatea Veterinary Club, we are now operating as an independent practice. All of our owners work in the business, and we are well supported by the management team at Franklin Vets.
