The Payment Operations Specialist prepares and processes Topstep's daily trader payouts under documented controls across ACH, Wise, wires, and Aeropay. Topstep is hiring two Specialists as part of bringing payout processing in-house. These roles absorb the work currently performed by a 4-5 person offshore team as automation matures - so the job combines disciplined daily execution with active participation in cutover and the adoption of new automated workflows.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare ACH, Wise, and wire batches according to runbooks and daily cutoffs.
  • Process returns, retries, and payout exceptions accurately and on time.
  • Operate as maker only: never validate or release your own work; every batch passes checker review.
  • Maintain accurate, complete records for independent reconciliation by Accounting.
  • Flag anomalies and control gaps immediately.
  • Execute cutover tasks as offshore work transitions in-house.
  • Adopt new automated workflows as TRM and batch automation land; suggest runbook improvements from the front line.

Requirements

  • 2 + years of operations experience in payments, banking, or fintech.
  • High attention to detail and strong process discipline.
  • Comfort working to firm daily cutoffs.
  • Clear written records and communication.
  • ACH or wire processing exposure.
  • Familiarity with Wise or Aeropay.
  • Experience in audit-controlled environments.

  • $27.88 - $33.65 hourly.
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
  • The compensation offered will take into account internal compensation structure and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
