TPI Composites is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the overall maintenance function of our manufacturing facility, located in Newton, IA. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of plant equipment, facilities, and infrastructure. The Maintenance Manager will lead maintenance teams, oversee budgets and capital projects, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and partner closely with operations to maximize up time, improve efficiency, and support production goals. We are looking for a strong leader who combines technical expertise, people development, and strategic thinking to build a high-performing maintenance organization.
Responsibilities:
- Leads all plant maintenance, facilities, and engineering-related activities.
- Ensures equipment reliability and maximizes production uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Partners closely with operations and plant leadership to resolve equipment issues and support production objectives.
- Manages maintenance budgets, contractors, facility improvements, and capital projects.
- Drives continuous improvement by identifying root causes of equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
- Develops and leads maintenance teams through hiring, coaching, training, and performance management.
- Maintains compliance with safety regulations and company policies while promoting a strong safety culture.
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience), coupled with 8+ years of progressive maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, manage performance, and support workforce planning.
Strong technical expertise in industrial maintenance systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated manufacturing equipment, with hands-on experience troubleshooting complex equipment issues and improving reliability.
Proven success driving equipment reliability and operational performance through preventive and predictive maintenance programs, root cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, and downtime reduction strategies.
Experience managing maintenance operations and resources, including budgets, capital projects, facility infrastructure, vendor relationships, contractors, and maintenance planning to support production objectives.
Strong business, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands, make data-driven decisions, and effectively partner with operations and plant leadership.
Experience with manufacturing technologies and systems, including PLCs, robotics, CMMS platforms, automation systems, and other modern maintenance tools.
Continuous improvement mindset, with experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar operational excellence methodologies focused on improving safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
