✓$30.00–$31.50 (NYC Boroughs & Boston)
✓Additional Earnings: $15/hr detention (after 1st hour) | $100 per layover | $200/day orientation pay | $160 holiday pay (6 paid holidays/yr)
- Base Terminal: Starts and ends daily at the West Haven, CT yard
- Operating Radius: 250 miles covering Westfield, MA, NYC Boroughs, Long Island, and NJ
- Shift Windows (12–14 hr daily shifts):
- 1st Shift: Starts 01:30 AM–04:00 AM | Days off: Sunday + 1 weekday
- 2nd Shift: Starts ~02:30 AM | Days off: Sunday + 1 weekday (never Monday)
- Peak Rules: Mandatory 6-day workweeks during holiday rushes (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's off not guaranteed); occasional overnight hotel layovers
- Daily Workflow: Pick up in Westfield, MA (2 AM–4 AM) for grocery deliveries & vendor backhauls | 20–25 stops/wk (1 primary load + short 2nd load if hours allow)
- Unloading Specs: Physical driver-assist using electric/manual pallet jacks & liftgates (1–3 pallets/stop; occasional hand offloads)
- Drop Locations: NYC (curbside), NJ (docks), Long Island (dock/curbside) | Pre-delivery calls required
- Equipment & Commute: Automatic day cabs w/ slip-seating (stay at yard; no take-home, pets, or riders) | Reliable personal vehicle required for commuting
Requirements
~1 min read- License & Experience: Valid CDL-A w/ 3+ months tractor-trailer experience (3+ months NYC borough experience preferred)
- Drug Screening: Mandatory pass on both hair follicle and urine drug tests
