You will be joining a highly impactful, cross-functional foundational team that sits at the intersection of our Identity, Infrastructure, and Localization platforms. We build and maintain the core systems that securely authenticate our users, scale our backend infrastructure, and power our global reach through our internal translation framework.

As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, you will join the Cloud Infrastructure Backend team, responsible for the foundational systems that securely power Truecaller for over 450 million users worldwide. You will collaborate on our most critical identity and core infrastructure domains, including our Authorization systems (handling peaks of 2.7M requests/second), our internal phone verification service (processing 51k RPS with sub-5ms p99 latency), and our massive business event ingestion pipelines (producing up to 676k events/sec).

In this role, you will also take primary ownership of our internal Translation Framework—a sophisticated CI/CD orchestrator that seamlessly integrates AI translations and linguist feedback to localize our platform globally. Writing primarily in Scala and Golang, you will solve complex distributed systems challenges at a massive scale, building and optimizing features to ensure our core infrastructure remains secure, resilient, and highly performant.

• →Build a scalable and reliable system. 

• 5+ years of backend experience with languages like Java, Scala, or Go, along with the willingness and excitement to work primarily in Scala and Golang.
• Experience of working with scalable, highly available, real-time distributed systems
• Experience of working with non-relational databases
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Mentoring/ Leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Domain experience in Localization systems or Identity/Authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth, SSO, IAM).
• Experience building systems in the Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with virtualization environments, e.g., Docker
• Experience with systems for managing containerized applications, e.g., Kubernetes
• Experience with Cassandra and Kafka.
