The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering our mission and achieving our goals. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date detailed records of inventory using Prophet 21 software to ensure accurate inventory levels in the distribution center.

Responsibilities 

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date detailed records of inventory using Prophet 21 software 

  • Conduct daily physical counts of product and reconcile with system records 

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and system records 

  • Collaborate with purchasing, receiving team, and other branches to ensure accurate recording of incoming and outgoing merchandise 

  • Oversee commercial equipment and collaborate with TMs and customers to schedule deliveries 

  • Manage consignment on a monthly basis and communicate with Rheem on sales 

  • Process and monitor Grainger drop ship orders from initiation to delivery, ensuring product specifications, pricing, and delivery timelines are met. 

  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, shipment tracking, delivery confirmations, and invoice reconciliation. 

  • Identify opportunities to streamline drop ship procedures, reduce lead times, and increase fulfillment accuracy. 

  • Utilizing transfers from branch to branch that are currently in route to ensure quicker processing times. 

  • Process Grainger orders from the point the EDI transmission is received. 

  • Packing and labeling packages to be processed for carrier pickup  

  • Coordinating with FedEx or RXO to schedule pick up times  

  • Assist in other areas of the Distribution Center including, but not limited to, transfers, shipping/receiving, deliveries, order pulling. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Requirements 

  • 2-3 years of prior experience in an inventory control position  

  • Proficiency in using Prophet 21 preferred or other ERP systems, including WWMS, and related inventory management processes 

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reconciling inventory data 

  • Knowledge of SKU management and BIN locations 

  • Intermediate Excel skills 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • Detail oriented, time-management and ability to prioritize work 

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team 

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks as needed 

  • High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining accurate inventory records 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
