CLINICAL RESEARCH COORDINATOR I

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Med - Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator I.

This position will support the Basu Research Laboratory in the UAB Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. The Basu Research Lab performs important and cutting-edge clinical research studies testing new treatments for diabetes, its complications, and related metabolic or hormonal disorders. These clinical studies or trials are sponsored through various mechanisms including the National Institutes of Health, private organizations, and the pharmaceutical industry. This position will be on-site and will not be considered a hybrid or remote work option.

General Responsibilities

• To serve as coordinator for studies and provide support to other team members within the confines of the protocol as directed.

• To support screening and participant eligibility determination, working with more senior team members to ensure compliance.

• To conduct activities in accordance with the protocol, regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).

• To assist with the study life cycle from start-up to closure, i.e., collecting and recording data, recruiting and performing follow-up with participants, scheduling visits and assisting in coordination of lab and fieldwork.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range:   $43,890 - $71,320

High School diploma or GED required.

• This position requires consistent, accurate, effective, and timely productivity in work duties and responsibilities.

• Meticulous documentation is critical. 

• This position will require a high level of administrative and computer skills.
