RESEARCHER II

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Genetics Research Division, is seeking a Researcher II. 

General Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision:

• To set up and perform routine and established lab procedures in support of lab goals.
• To collect, enter and summarize data.
• To monitor results and report unusual outcomes.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Fly stock management
2. Heart dissection and cleaning optical imaging
3. Biochemical assays
4. Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly Salary Range    $15.50 - $23.51

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• OR Associate's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
• OR High School diploma or GED and four (4) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

• Previous lab experience a must.
