About the Team
UKG Internal Audit is evolving into a risk-aligned function focused on delivering relevant assurance, practical advice, and meaningful business insight. The Enterprise Risk Assurance and Advisory team covers operational, compliance, and strategic risks across UKG’s business outside of technology and product development. This role reports to the Vice President of Internal Audit.
About the Role
As Director, Enterprise Risk Assurance and Advisory, you will lead a broad enterprise risk portfolio and serve as a trusted advisor and business partner to senior leaders.
You will:
• Own risk-based assurance and advisory coverage across enterprise operations, commercial and revenue activities, sales and marketing, customer success, strategic growth and integrations, finance operations, legal and compliance, fraud, procurement, people operations, facilities, and managed services.
• Build strong relationships with executives and business leaders, providing timely insights on emerging risks, control considerations, and opportunities to strengthen business processes and decision-making.
• Deliver proactive risk and control consulting, partnering with leaders on significant initiatives, transformation efforts, and business changes to identify risks early and help shape practical, sustainable solutions.
• Plan, scope and lead operational and compliance audits and advisory reviews from risk assessment through reporting, with an emphasis on delivering clear, actionable insights that address the issues most important to UKG.
• Coordinate closely with second-line risk and compliance functions, including Enterprise Risk Management, Third-Party Risk Management, and Compliance, to promote alignment on key risks, reduce unnecessary duplication, and provide a more integrated view of risk across the enterprise.
• Lead and develop an in-house team of approximately three professionals and coordinate strategic co-source resources to provide specialized expertise and flexible capacity.
• Contribute to the continued transformation and maturity of Internal Audit by strengthening risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, advisory capabilities, and the relevance and impact of our work.
About You
Basic Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant internal audit, risk, assurance, or advisory experience, including leadership responsibility in complex growing organizations.
• Demonstrated experience leading risk-based audit and advisory programs, partnering with senior business leaders, and communicating risk and control insights to executive audiences.
• Relevant professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, or comparable credential.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
Preferred Qualifications
• Internal audit leadership experience in a software-as-a-service or technology company, or consulting experience spanning internal audit and risk advisory in a related industry sector.
• Demonstrated success operating as a trusted business advisor, providing proactive risk and control guidance beyond traditional audit engagements.
• Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams, with a strong commitment to coaching, developing, and expanding team members’ skills, experiences, and career growth.
• Agile and innovative mindset, with the ability to adapt audit, advisory, and stakeholder engagement approaches to meet evolving business priorities, risk conditions, and department needs.
• Experience collaborating with enterprise risk management, compliance, third-party risk, or other second-line risk functions.
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, integrations, or large-scale enterprise transformation.
