Job Summary The Senior Director, Sourcing & Procurement – India will lead the Sourcing & Procurement organization based in India and will be accountable for building a high-performing, scalable, and strategically integrated capability across sourcing, procurement operations, procure to pay, data and analytics, and procurement systems. This leader will ensure that the India organization delivers measurable business value while providing reliable global support, strong operational controls, and an excellent stakeholder experience. This role will serve as a senior strategic partner to Procurement leadership, Finance, Accounts Payable, Legal, Technology, Internal Audit, business leaders, and Category Managers. The successful candidate will combine executive leadership with strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, procurement operations, source-to-pay processes, data and analytics, systems enablement, compliance, and continuous improvement. The leader will be expected to modernize the India organization from a primarily execution-focused delivery model into a proactive center of excellence that uses data to identify opportunities and risks, improves cycle time and quality, automates manual work, strengthens controls, develops talent, and enables Category Managers and business stakeholders to capture sustainable value. Key Responsibilities India Organization Leadership and Operating Model • Lead the full Sourcing & Procurement organization in India, including sourcing, Procurement Operations and P2P, and Data & Analytics and Procurement Systems. • Translate global Procurement strategy into an India delivery roadmap with clear priorities, milestones, resource requirements, dependencies, and expected business outcomes. • Set a high bar for accuracy, responsiveness, risk management, business partnership, continuous improvement, and measurable value creation. • Build a strong leadership team, develop succession plans, attract and retain high-performing talent, and create career paths that increase the strategic capability of the India organization. • Create an inclusive, collaborative, and accountable culture that supports global stakeholders across regions and time zones. Strategic Sourcing, Category Execution, and Supplier Value • Provide leadership and direction to the sourcing organization and ensure sourcing strategies are aligned with business priorities, category strategies, enterprise leverage, risk requirements, and value targets. • Oversee the execution of complex and high-value sourcing initiatives, negotiations, renewals, supplier selections, and commercial agreements across relevant categories. • Ensure sourcing teams use disciplined market intelligence, supplier research, competitive bidding, benchmarking, negotiation planning, and fact-based recommendations. • Strengthen supplier relationship management, supplier performance, business reviews, issue resolution, and proactive management of supplier risk and dependency. • Promote strategic alignment between global sourcing activities and local or regional business requirements, including the needs of international legal entities. • Partner with Category Managers and business leaders to identify demand-management, specification, consolidation, supplier rationalization, and other value opportunities. • Ensure sourcing outcomes are implemented effectively and that negotiated value is reflected in contracts, purchase orders, invoices, budgets, and business results. Procurement Operations, Procure to Pay, and Service Delivery • Provide executive oversight of the Procurement Operations and P2P organization responsible for purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, invoice approvals, PO changes, supplier support, and related activities. • Establish operational performance standards and dashboards for intake-to-PR and PR-to-PO cycle time, PO accuracy, invoice processing and approval cycle time, aging, exception rates, throughput, workload, and service-level performance. • Ensure the P2P organization delivers accurate and timely execution, proactively identifies funding and approval risks, and provides effective support to business stakeholders and Accounts Payable. • Drive the standardization and continuous improvement of P2P processes, work queues, handoffs, controls, escalation paths, year-end PO cleanup, and open commitment management. • Partner with Accounts Payable and Finance to improve invoice matching, discrepancy resolution, payment timeliness, supplier experience, and financial controls. • Use capacity, workload, aging, and productivity data to improve work assignment, staffing decisions, service delivery, and scalability across the India organization. • Set the direction for automation and shared-service improvements that reduce manual effort while preserving accuracy, control, and a high-quality stakeholder experience. Data, Analytics, Procurement Systems, and Digital Enablement • Lead the development of a trusted Procurement data and analytics capability that enables leadership, Category Managers, Finance, and business stakeholders to make informed decisions. • Oversee executive reporting packages, Procurement KPI definitions, dashboards, data processes, data quality, reporting governance, and actionable insights across sourcing and procurement operations. • Ensure data from workflow orchestration, spend analytics, ERP, Accounts Payable, Finance, supplier, contract, and other relevant systems is connected, reconciled, governed, and available for consumption. • Own the Procurement Operations systems roadmap and ensure systems support intake, sourcing, contracting, supplier management, purchase orders, invoices, savings tracking, compliance, and reporting. • Use automation, analytics, and digital tools to improve visibility, reduce manual work, accelerate decision-making, and increase the scalability of the Procurement operating model. • Ensure data and systems are designed and managed with appropriate security, access, documentation, controls, and auditability. Savings, Value Governance, and Financial Partnership • Establish clear accountability for Procurement value creation and ensure sourcing, operations, data, and systems teams support measurable business outcomes. • Oversee a standardized savings governance process that defines how P&L savings, contractual savings, cost avoidance, demand management, and other value measures are calculated, documented, validated, tracked, and reported. • Ensure sourcing outcomes are translated into financial and operational results and that value leakage is identified and addressed across the source-to-pay lifecycle. • Use data and performance insights to direct resources toward the highest-value opportunities and identify areas requiring corrective action. Process Transformation, Compliance, and Governance • Establish a continuous improvement agenda that uses process mapping, root-cause analysis, stakeholder feedback, performance data, and automation to improve efficiency, quality, control, and user experience. • Ensure sourcing, contracting, supplier onboarding, purchasing, and invoice processes operate within approved policies, delegation of authority, approval requirements, and applicable control frameworks. • Promote proactive risk management across suppliers, markets, contracts, payments, data, systems, and operational dependencies. • Ensure standard operating procedures, role definitions, training, documentation, and change-management practices are maintained as processes and systems evolve. Executive Partnership and Global Stakeholder Management • Serve as a senior representative of Sourcing & Procurement in India and build strong relationships with global Procurement leadership and enterprise functions. • Provide concise, fact-based updates on performance, savings, risks, capacity, priorities, transformation progress, and resource needs. • Influence senior stakeholders and align teams around decisions when priorities, ownership, or requirements cross organizational boundaries. • Create transparency into the India organization's work, capabilities, service levels, and business impact. • Promote consistent global standards while ensuring solutions are practical for the operating realities of international legal entities and distributed teams. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred. • 12+ years of progressive experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Procurement Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related discipline, including significant leadership experience. • Demonstrated experience leading multiple Procurement disciplines, including strategic sourcing, procure to pay or procurement operations, and procurement data, analytics, or systems. • Experience leading large, complex, or geographically distributed teams and managing through direct and indirect leadership structures. • Strong understanding of strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management, contracting, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice processes, and source-to-pay controls. • Strong executive presence, communication, influence, negotiation, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to use data and business insights to set priorities, manage performance, allocate resources, and identify opportunities and risks. • Experience working in a global organization and leading teams that support stakeholders across multiple countries and time zones. Preferred Qualifications • Experience leading a Procurement Center of Excellence, shared-service organization, global delivery center, or India-based Procurement organization. • Experience in a large, complex, or technology-enabled company with significant indirect or addressable spend. • Experience with procurement workflow orchestration, spend analytics, ERP, Accounts Payable automation, contract lifecycle management, supplier management, or business intelligence platforms. • Experience leading automation, digital procurement, data integration, KPI governance, or analytics-enabled operating model improvements. • Experience managing international sourcing, cross-border procurement, regional legal entities, multiple currencies, or local market requirements.
