SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL

UnetSafe MT is looking for a highly qualified Senior Legal Counsel to oversee the legal aspects of our business The chosen candidate will safeguard our reputation by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows legal guidelines, provide legal advice about all relevant issues and will effectively ensure legal conformity.

Duties and responsibilities:

Providing immediate day to day legal advice to senior leaders within the Legal department and internal client teams;

Analyzing laws/regulations and developments to evaluate impact on various business units;

Collaborating with business, risk, compliance and controls partners to issue spot and identify and escalate risks (legal, reputational or otherwise) and implement policy, process and procedural changes to comply with policy and changing laws/regulations both EU and US;

Participating on cross-line of business projects on a variety of subjects;

Acting as subject matter expert on certain laws and regulations withing the EU and US;

Collaborating and coordinating with the legal contacts for various business units across the firm wide legal team to drive consistency and collaboration;

Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics;

Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance;

Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations;

Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues;

Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.) creating relations of trust;

Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure the company's full legal rights;

Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization;

Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation of the EU and US;

Requirements:

Proven experience as a legal counsel in business environment;

The candidate should have a degree in Law with strong academic credentials (EU and US LL.M);

Should have proficiency in legal research, other research tools, as well as file and document management technology;

The strategic vision to anticipate legal issues in different businesses;

The ability to lead and institute change and collaboration across a variety of functional areas;

The ability to prioritize work, manage a large number of issues at one time, and interact with senior management;

Knowledge of financial services laws and regulations is a plus;

Excellent research, writing and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability to listen and drive results in a team setting;

Effective and efficient problem solver; strong organizational skills;

Self-starter; ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues;

Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills;

Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures;

Strong knowledge of English, Russian and Ukrainian.
