Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily production activities by applying basic engineering, business and problem-solving principles to improve operational efficiency.
- Assist operations and maintenance teams with data collection, process analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Observe and learn production processes while working alongside experienced supervisors, technicians and operators.
- Participate in safety, quality, and productivity projects to support departmental objectives.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering and other plant personnel to gain exposure to manufacturing operations.
- Attend training sessions and developmental assignments to build knowledge of steel manufacturing processes and operations management.
- Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or another related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and willingness to follow safety guidelines.
- Basic knowledge of Manufacturing environment and procedures is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Candidates must be a current student and have completed their sophomore year by June 2027 and be in good academic standing.
- Be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Previous internship or work experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Gain practical experience in industrial environment and troubleshooting problems.
- Learn from industry professionals and receive mentoring on best practices.
- Improve understanding of the relationship between operational activities and production efficiency.
- Work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to noise, machinery, and potential hazards (PPE will be provided).
- Flexible hours, with possible overtime depending on project requirements
