The Denter is responsible for repairing vehicle body damage by reshaping, straightening, and aligning metal panels and body parts. The Denter ensures all repairs meet manufacturer standards and contribute to the vehicle’s original structural integrity and appearance.
Responsibilities
~1 min readBody Repair & Panel Beating: Inspect damaged vehicles and assess the extent of structural and surface damage. · Remove, repair, or replace dented panels and parts using proper tools and techniques. · Perform pulling, hammering, welding, and grinding to reshape vehicle bodies.
Surface Preparation: Sand and smooth repaired surfaces to prepare for priming and painting. · Ensure proper alignment and fitting of doors, hoods, bumpers, and other panels.
Welding & Metalwork: · Perform MIG, TIG, or spot welding as required to fix or reinforce body structures. · Repair minor cracks, holes, and rust spots on vehicle bodies.
Tool & Equipment Handling: Use body repair tools (e.g., hydraulic jacks, dollies, hammer kits, panel beaters, welding machines) safely and effectively. · Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Work Coordination & Documentation: Follow job card instructions and complete assigned tasks within set timeframes. · Report completed jobs, additional damage, or required parts to the supervisor.
Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure repairs meet OEM (original equipment manufacturer) specifications and company quality standards. · Adhere to workshop safety protocols and wear PPE at all times.
