Temporary Worker-UPS

The Institute for Policy & Social Research (IPSR) is a faculty-driven research center supporting social scientists who focus on social problems and policy-relevant research questions. The Institute for Policy & Social Research at the University of Kansas invites candidates to apply for a temporary worker position. The position is expected to begin as early as October 1, 2026.  IPSR is seeking candidates who aspire to become academic researchers in assisting community-engaged research. The temporary worker will work closely with Dr. Hyunjin Seo.  

Professor Hyunjin Seo is looking for a highly-motivated temporary worker interested in assisting community-engaged research projects related to digital skills and career readiness training for underserved women in the U.S. Midwest. The temporary worker is expected to collect, manage, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to assess project implementation, outcomes, and impact. This is a 5-hour per week position running from October 1, 2026 – May 31, 2027.

KU is a Research 1 (RU/VH) institution, the flagship of the Kansas system, and a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU). It is located in Lawrence, a thriving and progressive community, which lies close to Kansas City.

We are unable to provide immigration sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. 30% - Interpreting the quantitative and qualitative date from the Kansas City Coalition for Career Readiness and Digital Skills Among Justice-Involved Women project to assess project outcomes and impact.
5% - Other duties as needed

1. High school diploma OR GED.
2. Experience collecting, organizing, cleaning, coding, and maintaining quantitative and qualitative project data as evidenced by resume or cover letter.

1. Effective verbal and written communication skills as required by previous experience.
