Physician Assistant- UMD Midtown Campus Emergency Medicine Department- Nocturnist- Part-Time- 30-39 hrs. weekly

The University of Maryland Midtown Campus is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department team in a weekday nocturnist role. Under general supervision, and in collaboration with physician colleagues and an interdisciplinary care team, the Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to individuals presenting with acute and emergent conditions. This role is essential in ensuring seamless care delivery, optimizing patient flow, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality during overnight weekday shifts. Provides continuity of patient care by facilitating and coordinating communication between the health care team, patient and patient’s family. Coordinates care to ensure quality, effective care and patient safety. Serves as link integrating relevant research and best practices; and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Graduation from a Physician Assistant Training Program approved by the Board of Physician Quality Assurance is required
• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required
• Licensure by Maryland State Board of Physicians as a Physician’s Assistant is required
• CPR required
• BLS required
• ACLS and/or other relevant certifications as required by the department
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit

Total Rewards
The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
