Travel Medical Assistant

Bring preventive healthcare directly to patients where they live. In this W-2 Temporary/Seasonal Travel Medical Assistant role, you’ll complete scheduled in-home visits across Alameda County, California, supporting preventive care, health assessments, care-gap activities, and accurate clinical documentation on a project-based assignment expected to run through January 2027.

This is a local travel role for one opening, with variable hours based on project and patient volume.

• Pay: $35.00/hour
• Schedule: Variable hours based on project volume, patient availability, geographic needs, and business requirements
• Location: Alameda County, CA
• Travel: Required throughout assigned Alameda County markets
• Project duration: Expected through January 2027; extension or renewal may be possible by mutual agreement based on business needs, performance, and availability, but employment beyond the project period is not guaranteed

• Travel throughout Alameda County to complete scheduled in-home member visits
• Obtain and accurately document vital signs, health screenings, and required patient information
• Support health assessments, care-gap activities, and assigned clinical programs
• Perform standard Medical Assistant responsibilities within your authorized scope
• Support approved point-of-care testing and specimen collection, as applicable
• Follow established infection-control, safety, HIPAA/privacy, and escalation procedures
• Document visit activities promptly and accurately in designated systems and applications
• Stay organized across changing routes, patient schedules, coverage needs, equipment, and supplies
• Deliver a professional, respectful, patient-first experience during home visits

• Medical Assistant training, certification, diploma, or equivalent qualification as required
• Hands-on Medical Assistant experience strongly preferred
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout Alameda County
• Comfort working independently in patients’ homes
• Strong communication, documentation, organization, and patient-service skills
• Ability to follow established clinical and operational protocols

• Experience with Annual Wellness Visits or preventive health assessments
• Prior home visit, mobile care, field-based care, or community health experience
• Experience with point-of-care testing or specimen collection
• Experience documenting patient visits in an EMR/EHR system

This is a variable-hours position. Weekly schedules and hours are determined by project volume, patient availability, geographic needs, and other business requirements. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week, and weekly hours may increase or decrease throughout the assignment depending on available work.

This is a local travel position covering Alameda County, California. Travel requirements and assignments may change throughout the project based on patient and operational needs.

Employees are paid for all compensable hours worked in accordance with applicable wage-and-hour requirements.
