GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB:

La Isla Clerk provides outstanding customer service in the La Isla department through friendly, speedy and accurate recording and gathering of customers food and beverage orders. Will stock and clean the department to meet the goals of the department.

DUTIES:

1. Smile and greet all customers and provide them with outstanding prompt and courteous service.

2. Fills customer requests; prepare, package, accurately weigh and price selected products.

3. Prepares from scratch various foods sold in La Isla with consistency in quality, appearance and weight according to Vallarta Supermarkets recopies.

4. Gathers, washes and prepares ingredients for items prepared in La Isla and Taqueria.

5. Communicate to department management when ingredients or supplies are needed, including the inventory level of prepared food.

6. Ensure all products are maintained fresh and presentable; rotate product and discard out of code product.

7. Promote sales by suggestive selling.

8. Safely transport product to and from coolers and storage areas.

9. Maintain display cases, and countertops clean, organized and presentable.

10. Stock and fill la isla display cases and coolers as required.

11. Be aware of case temperatures and communicate any temperature discrepancies to Taqueria Manager.

12. Complete knowledge of all La Isla products, product uses and codes.

13. Assist in the cleaning and sanitation of the work area.

14. Work safely and be aware of coworkers and customer safety at all times; use all tools and equipment in a safe manner, use safety equipment according to Company policies, and immediately report any equipment discrepancies to a manager in charge.

15. Work as a team member, assist coworkers when needed.

16. Treat co-workers and customers respectfully at all times. Do not use obscene and/or profan language or gestures.

17. Follow all health code regulations; ensure the highest standards of food safety, personal hygiene, and sanitation are practiced.

18. Follow dress code and change apron and/or smock as needed.

19. Abide by all store rules, and company policies as stated in Company’s Employee Handbook.

20. Contact your department manager or store director regarding any questions, problems, or concerns.

21. Complete follow through of additional duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• · Must have thorough knowledge of product sold in La Isla department
• · Basic understanding of English language.
• · Must be able to safely work in a fast paced, crowded environment

HELPFUL SKILLS:

• · Knowledge of how to prepare salads.
