Vast is looking for a Senior CNC Programmer, reporting to the Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.

Responsibilities

→Program complex parts for our mills and/or lathes.
→Proficiency in Hypermill and/or Esprit.
→Work with tooling suppliers to determine the best tools for the job.
→Understand how to ramp parts from development to production.
→Reduce machine time per part when possible.
→Ability to read and interpret aerospace drawings.
→Increase overall efficiency of machining operations.
→Procure tooling necessary for jobs.
→Effectively work as a team and pass on workload to the following shift.
→Support and foster a strong team environment.

Requirements

6+ years of CNC machining experience and 3+ years of programming experience.
High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Nice to Have

Working knowledge of GD&T.
Familiarity with inspection tools.
Understanding of CAD and CAM software.
Understanding of feeds and speeds.
Knowledge of G-Code.
Strong Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to ensure quality parts are produced from programs being created/proved out.
Strong oral and written communication.
College or Trade school certificate.
Working knowledge of Additive Manufactured Parts.
Multi-axis Mill, Lathe, Mill-Turn and Turn-Mill knowledge.
Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical mission milestones.

Pay Range: California

$45—$60 USD
