Vast is looking for a Deburr Technician, reporting to the Senior Manager of Advanced Manufacturing, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. Use this space to describe the role and sell the candidate on the cool stuff they would get to work on.
This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Interpret drawings to maintain part specifications.
- →Smooth and process machined components after machining.
- →Polish surface finishes without altering precise tolerances.
- →Operate a mass finishing barrel tumbler using specified recipes for specific parts and materials.
- →Meet productivity expectations and production goals.
- →Maintain a tidy and efficient work environment.
- →Ensure a constant flow of products and promptly notify management when production is hindered.
- →Continuously contribute ideas for process improvements.
- →Hand tapping and installing inserts.
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent years of work experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience in a production environment or factory.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- 2+ years of experience in deburring, utilizing various techniques and both manual and automated equipment.
- Experience working in a machine shop.
- Familiarity with basic blueprint reading.
- Proficiency in using various measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and borescopes.
- Must be available to work all required shift hours, overtime, and weekends, as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. without assistance, perform repetitive movements, bend or twist, use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and be exposed to sounds, noise levels, and typical shop chemicals (coolant, solvents, cleaners) that may be distracting. These requirements are generally essential to fulfill the duties of this position.
