Senior Application Security Consultant

Veracode is seeking a motivated and energetic colleague who is interested in working with customers’ security professionals and software developers to improve application security in a measurable way. The Senior Application Security Consultant will focus on guiding developers and security teams on application security best practices by providing code-level remediation advice on potential application vulnerabilities identified by the Veracode service.

• →Coach developers through remediating vulnerabilities found in their code, offering actionable guidance at the code level.
• →Get exposure to a range of programming languages, frameworks, and architectures.
• →Act as part of a close-knit global team; learning from and teaching your peers.
• →Be a subject matter expert in application security, providing consultative services to Veracode customers - primarily guiding developers and security teams on practical remediation. Introduce customers and prospects to the Veracode service and interact with a variety of customer personnel.
• →Help users and various stakeholders within the customer organization interpret results from the Veracode analysis tools.
• →Guide Developers through using Veracode Services where required.
• →Participate in the sales efforts as needed when technical capabilities of the service are presented.
• →Become an engaged participant and trusted advisor throughout the customer SDLC.
• →Work with the Veracode product strategy team to file and track customer enhancement requests.

• Willingness and eagerness to learn new programming  languages on the job.
• Understanding of Application-level security and secure coding practices.
• 5+ years of recent, hands-on software development experience - professional, open source, or substantial side projects.
• Excellent "Client-side" manner.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Strong oral communication skills in English and good presentation/teaching skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to apply these skills cooperatively in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience shipping code to production; comfort working within real development workflows, CI/CD, version control, and team coding practices.
