The Controls Scrum Master will facilitate Agile delivery for the Americas controls application teams. This role will support multiple cross-functional teams across Mexico and US locations, ensuring effective adoption of Scrum and Kanban methodologies while removing impediments to team productivity and delivery excellence.  This position plays a critical role in the Americas regional controls organization, enabling teams to deliver high-quality controls applications for multiple product lines (DX, EDGE/CRV) while maintaining strong coordination with global Product Owners and technical leadership.

This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Monterrey, MX - Apodaca location.

Responsibilities

Agile Facilitation (40%)

  • Scrum (NPDi): Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives; coach on story estimation and Definition of Done
  • Kanban (ETO): Establish boards and backlogs, enforce WIP limits, monitor lead/cycle time, optimize flow efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives and Agile best practices

Impediment Removal & Team Support (25%)

  • Proactively identify and remove blockers; escalate organizational issues 
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and resource needs
  • Maintain and propose tools, and generate metrics dashboards
  • Support onboarding and knowledge transfer between Mexico and US teams

Stakeholder Communication (20%)

  • Provide sprint status updates and delivery risk reports
  • Coordinate with Scrum Masters in other regions and functional areas
  • Support Product Owner in multi-team backlog management
  • Facilitate demos and sprint reviews with Product Line stakeholders

Team Development & Coaching (15%)

  • Coach teams on Agile principles, Scrum values, and Kanban practices
  • Foster collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement of culture

Requirements

  • 3+ years as Scrum Master/Agile Coach in software development
  • 5+ years total in software development, project management, or technical program management
  • Preferred: Embedded systems, firmware, or controls development experience

Nice to Have

  • Expert facilitation and Agile coaching abilities
  • Strong communication (English required, Spanish preferred)
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum tools
  • Metrics-driven (velocity, burndown, lead time analysis)
  • Comfortable with distributed teams across time zones
  • Servant leadership mindset; puts team needs first
  • Empathy and active listening; builds trust
  • Resilience under pressure; maintains team morale
  • Cultural sensitivity in multicultural environments
  • Required to work in the office, hours may vary but early morning availability is preferred due to time zone difference
  • 10% including international travel
