Job Description: Engineering Project Coordinator Position Summary: The Engineering Project Coordinator is an integration‑focused role within the Product Architecture Playbook (PAP) team, supporting system‑level consistency across mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineering domains for integrated IT infrastructure solutions. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and working closely with Senior Mechanical, Electrical, and Thermal Engineers, this role owns integration tools such as compatibility matrices, supporting analysis tools and dashboards and supports system‑level alignment and interface consistency. The Project Engineer supports system‑level evaluation through coordination of NPDI reviews, consolidation of cross‑discipline inputs, and verification against established standards and architectural guidelines. The ideal candidate has a solid mechanical or electrical engineering foundation, strong system thinking, and the ability to structure, document, and validate cross‑discipline inputs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support system‑level evaluation of new product developments through coordination of NPDI reviews, consolidation of cross‑discipline inputs, and verification against established standards and architectural guidelines
  • Translate domain‑specific inputs into clear, structured, and reusable system‑level documentation
  • Formalize, communicate, and support updates to the Product Architecture Playbook (PAP) and related system‑level guidelines, ensuring clarity, alignment, and timely awareness across multiple business units within Vertiv
  • Help clarify and adapt existing Vertiv guidelines for system‑relevant application and practical use in new product developments, incorporating feedback from NPDI activities and integration reviews to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate within the PAP team to ensure new product developments align with system‑level standards and architectural guidelines
  • Prepare and maintain system‑level documentation related to integration principles, compatibility studies, and design and NPDI reviews
  • Cooperate and maintain system‑level integration tools, including compatibility matrices, supporting analysis tools, and dashboards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and availability across product lines
  • Work cross‑functionally with Product Line teams across Vertiv to support alignment, adoption, and consistent interpretation of system‑level requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of system‑level integration practices based on lessons learned from design and NPDI activities
  • Manage multiple parallel activities and adjust priorities as new inputs or constraints emerge
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in system integration and multi‑disciplinary engineering
  • Actively participate in the development of innovative data center solutions, including the use of new materials, advanced technologies, and automation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering, systems integration, product development, or engineering standards, preferably within IT infrastructure or related industries
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, layouts, and 3D models; hands‑on CAD experience (e.g., Creo) is a plus but not required
  • Experience with system‑level integration, compatibility analysis, or cross‑discipline coordination across mechanical, electrical, and thermal domains is a plus
  • Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines relevant to mechanical, electrical, or thermal systems in data center infrastructure (e.g. ASME, ASHRAE, ANSI, ISO)
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to structure, document, and validate complex technical information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate domain‑specific inputs into clear system‑level documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional teams and coordinate inputs across Product Lines and Business Units
  • Familiarity with rack, power, and cooling systems is a plus
