Job Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and innovative UI/UX Design Engineer to serve as the Library Manager for our growing suite of Shopify stores and M&D sites, including our US D2C platform. This role is critical in ensuring design consistency, enhancing user experience, and maintaining accessibility standards across all digital touchpoints. As a Library Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our design libraries and templates are always current, optimized, and impactful.


Responsibilities:

Design Library Management

  • Maintain and update comprehensive design libraries across all Shopify stores and M&D sites.
  • Develop reusable components and templates that align with brand guidelines and business objectives.
  • Document and share best practices for utilizing design libraries across teams.

UI Optimization

  • Continuously improve store UI for enhanced usability, visual consistency, and seamless mobile responsiveness.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve inconsistencies or outdated elements.
  • Implement UI solutions that enhance customer engagement and drive conversions.

Accessibility Evaluation

  • Routinely assess digital assets for compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
  • Recommend and implement improvements to ensure inclusivity across all platforms.

Collaboration

  • Reports to CX Lead to align design libraries with technical feasibility and scalability and frequent alignment with Lead Developer.
  • Work closely with the Content Team to ensure design templates and libraries support dynamic and engaging storytelling.
  • Act as a bridge between creative and technical teams to ensure seamless execution of design updates.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on emerging design and UI/UX trends to introduce innovative ideas.
  • Regularly review analytics and feedback to inform design improvements.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on utilizing design systems effectively.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a focus on maintaining design systems or libraries.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and Shopify platforms is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and mobile-first design principles.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.
