Cage Repair

Primarily responsible for cleaning, maintaining, repairing and prepping cages for live haul trailers.   

• →Clean and sanitize live haul trailers and cages.
• →Perform all necessary paperwork associated with assigned job (i.e. work orders, charge parts, etc.).
• →Inspect and repair cages, adhering to DOT and animal welfare guidelines and regulations.
• →Drive various heavy duty equipment pieces safely.
• →General housekeeping duties, maintaining neat, clean and orderly work area.
• →All other duties as assigned.

• Relative maintenance experience (e.g. cutting, grinding, welding, etc.).
• Basic math functions and skills.
• Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
• Ability to operate yard equipment (e.g. forklift, yard truck, tractor, etc.)
• Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cage maintenance experience.

• Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs.
• Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Stand up to 8 hours.
• Lift up to 60 lbs.
• Frequent exposure to outdoor environment.
• Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.
• Work around raw, live animal odors.
• Work in noisy environment (>85 decibels) and moving equipment.
