As we continue expanding our operations, we are seeking a hands-on Facility Manager to help establish and lead our new distribution center in Fredericksburg, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for an operations professional who enjoys building operations from the ground up and taking ownership of a growing facility. This is a hands-on working management position. As the facility is currently in its startup phase, the Facility Manager will initially be responsible for independently performing daily warehouse operations, including operating a company delivery van.
As operations expand, the Facility Manager will play a key role in hiring, training, and developing a team while continuing to oversee daily warehouse and transportation activities.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, comfortable working independently, and has strong warehouse operations and driving experience. Experience operating a 26-foot box truck and working in the wine industry are preferred, and local candidates are encouraged to apply.

~2 min readAs the Facility Manager, you will be responsible for both managing and performing the daily operations of our Fredericksburg distribution center. Initially, this will be an independent, hands-on role requiring you to handle warehouse activities and operate a company delivery van. As the facility grows, responsibilities will expand to include hiring, training, and supervising additional team members.
Responsibilities
- →Lead and actively participate in daily warehouse operations, including receiving, shipping, fulfillment, inventory control, packing, and order processing.
- →Operate a company delivery van to complete customer pickups and deliveries, ensuring products are properly loaded, secured, and transported safely and on time.
- →Assist with establishing and developing operations at a new distribution facility, including implementing processes and organizing workflows.
- →Maintain an active, hands-on presence in the warehouse, performing daily operational duties as needed.
- →Establish and maintain productivity, quality, safety, and inventory accuracy standards.
- →Plan, prioritize, and organize daily warehouse workflow to meet customer expectations.
- →Develop and implement operational procedures that improve efficiency and ensure consistency.
- →Partner with leadership, customer service, finance, and transportation teams to resolve operational issues.
- →Oversee inventory control processes, including cycle counts, reconciliations, and inventory accuracy.
- →Coordinate equipment maintenance and ensure facility equipment remains in safe operating condition.
- →Review warehouse documentation, receiving records, shipping paperwork, and vendor invoices for accuracy.
- →Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and warehouse best practices.
- →Maintain proficiency with warehouse management systems and operational reporting.
- →Prepare operational reports and communicate facility performance to leadership.
- →Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
As the Facility Grows
- →Recruit, hire, train, and develop warehouse employees to support expanding operations.
- →Manage employee scheduling, staffing levels, and performance to meet operational demands.
- →Supervise, coach, and hold team members accountable for individual and team performance goals.
- →Oversee employees performing transportation duties, ensuring safe driving practices and compliance with company procedures.
- →Delegate daily warehouse responsibilities while maintaining a hands-on leadership presence.
- →Transition to operating a 26-foot company box truck as business needs expand.
Required Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience managing warehouse or distribution center operations.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to perform hands-on warehouse duties in addition to management responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license and a driving record reflecting no accidents or moving violations within the past five years.
- Ability and willingness to regularly operate a company delivery van and transition to a 26-foot box truck as operational needs expand.
- Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service mindset with a commitment to operational excellence.
- Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment and enforce company policies.
- Ability to become certified on warehouse PIT equipment.
Preferred Experience
- Two to five years of warehouse, distribution, logistics, or fulfillment management experience.
- Experience opening, launching, or establishing operations at a new warehouse or distribution facility.
- Experience operating a 26-foot box truck or similar commercial-sized vehicle.
- Experience in the wine industry, including wine warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, or transportation.
- Experience managing inventory control.
- Experience implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
- Familiarity with WMS platforms such as Advatix, MAPPS, or similar warehouse software.
- Experience leading teams in a high-volume fulfillment environment.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent leadership experience will also be considered.
$65,000–$75,000 annually, depending on experience.
