Associate Network Engineer

What’s the role?

Join our Software Defined Networks team and help support the WAN and campus networks connecting Westpac’s branches, corporate offices and international locations. You’ll provide Level 2 support, troubleshoot Cisco network devices, monitor network performance and implement changes that respond to business needs. You’ll also contribute to network design, implementation and continuous improvement activities that strengthen the security, reliability and scalability of our network services. This is a permanent role based in Sydney, with participation in an extended-hours and out-of-hours support roster.
 

What do I need?

• Understanding of networking fundamentals and experience troubleshooting Cisco network devices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of incidents through to resolution.
• Familiarity with ITIL-aligned incident and change management processes.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly and work effectively with stakeholders.
• Exposure to Cisco SD-WAN, enterprise networks or network automation using tools such as Python would be beneficial.
