We are looking for a mid-level lawyer to join our Consumer legal team, supporting a broad portfolio across mortgages, everyday banking, credit cards and personal loans. This is a hands-on role working closely with business stakeholders and operational teams on a wide range of customer-facing legal matters. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice on day-to-day consumer banking matters across multiple product lines 
  • Support the business in managing customer-related legal issues, including: 
    • powers of attorney and third-party authorities 
    • deceased estates 
    • account access and disputes (including joint account/customer disputes) 
    • settlements and discharge processes 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and guidance materials 
  • Identify legal risks and support the implementation of appropriate controls 

 

  • Admitted to practice as a solicitor in NSW
  • Minimum 4 years PQE in private practice or supporting a financial services business 
  • Strong familiarity with consumer banking products and regulatory frameworks 
  • Commercially minded with the ability to deliver clear, actionable legal advice 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative approach
