As a Project Manager, you'll lead cross-functional initiatives that drive business transformation and support Whataburger's strategic priorities. You'll bring teams together, align stakeholders, and guide projects from planning through execution while balancing scope, budget, timelines, and risk. Through strong partnerships and disciplined project leadership, you'll help deliver meaningful results that Make a Difference for our business and restaurants. You'll Serve with Heart by supporting teams and stakeholders through change, Win as One by fostering collaboration across functions, and Move Forward Boldly by driving progress, removing barriers, and turning strategy into action.

As a Project Manager,  you will:

• →Lead cross-functional projects from planning through execution.
• →Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources.
• →Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
• →Build strong partnerships with stakeholders and business leaders.
• →Develop project plans and drive accountability for deliverables.
• →Facilitate alignment across teams to achieve project goals.
• →Manage project changes and assess impacts to timelines and budgets.
• →Provide clear project updates, reporting, and documentation.
• →Support vendor coordination, due diligence, and billing accuracy.
• →Drive successful project outcomes that support business objectives.

As a Project Manager,  you must have: 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of project management or related experience.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and initiatives.
• Strong project planning and execution skills.
• Experience managing budgets, timelines, and resources.
• Ability to identify and manage project risks and dependencies.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting organizational change and business initiatives.

As a Project Manager,  we prefer you to have: 

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience leading business transformation initiatives.
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and governance practices.
• Experience implementing change management strategies.
• Experience working with external vendors and partners.
• Process improvement or continuous improvement experience.

This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office, working on‑site Monday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Fridays. In this role, you’ll have strong collaboration with leadership, across cross-functional teams, and with external partners to align capabilities with restaurant realities. The work environment is fast‑paced and requires sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Full‑time availability is required, with occasional extended hours based on business needs, along with occasional travel to properties, project sites, and external meetings. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio Home Office.
