Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated General Practitioner to join their growing primary care team. This is an exciting opportunity for a GP with a strong background in Irish General Practice and GMS services to take a leadership role in the ongoing development of the practice.
The successful candidate will initially work two days per week, with Wednesday being an essential clinic day. The second working day is negotiable. As the practice continues to grow, there is significant potential for the role to develop into a full-time position.
In addition to delivering high-quality patient care, the successful candidate will lead the practice's Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Programme and support the implementation of current and future HSE and GMS initiatives.
Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary care services to GMS and private patients.

Assess, diagnose, treat and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

Develop and implement evidence-based treatment and management plans.

Conduct routine health assessments, preventative care reviews and chronic disease monitoring.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with Medical Council and GDPR requirements.

Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Lead and oversee the practice's Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Programme.

Ensure compliance with HSE CDM guidelines, reporting requirements and programme targets.

Support the implementation and development of HSE-funded and GMS-related initiatives.

Work collaboratively with nursing, administrative and allied healthcare colleagues to optimise patient outcomes.

Contribute to service planning and practice development as the patient list grows.

Maintain Medical Council registration and professional indemnity.

Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and clinical audit activities.

Ensure compliance with all relevant Irish healthcare regulations, standards and best practice guidelines.
Requirements

Medical degree (MB BCh BAO, MBBS or equivalent).
Fully registered with the Irish Medical Council on the Specialist Division for General Practice.
Eligible for and experienced in providing services under the General Medical Services (GMS) Scheme.
Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a GP within the Irish healthcare system.
Demonstrable experience managing GMS patients and associated clinical programmes.
Experience leading or participating in the HSE Chronic Disease Management Programme.
Strong understanding of HSE primary care initiatives, GMS contracts and chronic disease management pathways.
Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to high-quality, patient-centred care and continuous service improvement.
Experience in practice development and growing patient lists.
Previous involvement in quality improvement, clinical governance or teaching.
Experience working with practice management systems and electronic health records.
