Senior Mechanical Engineer

Worley is seeking experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers to join our Mining, Minerals & Metals (MMM) team. In this role, you will provide mechanical engineering expertise across studies, FEED, detailed design, sustaining capital, brownfield modifications, and major project developments within the mining and mineral processing sectors.

• →Deliver mechanical engineering services in accordance with Worley procedures, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• →Lead the development of mechanical engineering deliverables from concept through to detailed design.
• →Execute and coordinate mechanical engineering activities across multiple projects and studies.
• →Ensure technical quality, integrity, and completeness of engineering deliverables.
• →Support construction and commissioning activities as required.
• →Perform and review mechanical design calculations, specifications, datasheets, and technical reports.
• →Develop equipment specifications and procurement packages for
• →Lead package engineering activities and coordination with equipment vendors.
• →Review mechanical layouts, equipment arrangements, and plant design solutions.
• →Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, constructability reviews, and model reviews.
• →Identify and resolve technical issues and engineering risks.
• →Support cost estimating, planning, scheduling, and execution activities.
• →Provide technical input into procurement activities including technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
• →Monitor and drive mechanical engineering progress and delivery against project schedules and budgets using earned value.
• →Manage scope changes and support project change management processes.
• →Support design activities between local and global execution centres.
• →Work collaboratively with process, piping, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• →Mentor graduate and developing engineers.
• →Build effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and contractors.
• →Contribute to continuous improvement and engineering best practices.

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
• RPEQ (mandatory), RPEV desirable.
• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or equivalent registration preferred.
• Typically 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience within Mining, Minerals & Metals projects.
• Experience across Studies, FEED, Detailed Design EPCM project delivery.
• Strong experience in one or more of:
  • Mineral processing plants
  • Hydrometallurgical facilities
  • Pyrometallurgical facilities
  • Comminution and screening circuits
  • Bulk Materials handling systems including mobile equipment
  • Underground, surface and IPCC mining
  • Shaft hoisting and ventilation systems
  • Non-Process Mining infrastructure, workshops, fuel facilities etc.
  • Water, wastewater and slurry infrastructure, pumping piping and pipelines
  • Package engineering and major equipment procurement
• Technical Skills
  • Mechanical equipment design and specification.
  • Bulk materials handling equipment and systems.
  • Pumps, tanks, pressure vessels and process equipment.
  • Mechanical equipment procurement and vendor management.
  • Equipment layout development and plant integration.
  • Knowledge of Australian and international design codes and standards.
