Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation — expanding what “mobility” means and how it serves society.

Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

Product Integrity

We are the first line of defense for safety + security + quality of AD/ADAS software at Woven by Toyota. Partnering with feature, systems, safety, cybersecurity and machine-learning teams, we turn prototypes into production-intent, standards-compliant software that can be trusted on public roads. Our mandate flows directly from Woven’s commitment to “zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.”

For this position, we are looking for a candidate with a software background who is willing and able to work effectively with a large and diverse codebase and can help evaluate, develop and tune tools that ensure the required code standards are met.  You need to be able to work closely with other teams and be hands-on in a fast-paced, collaborative, and intercultural environment.  You also bring rigor and a strong safety and quality mindset to ensure successful delivery of mass-production safety-critical software products.
  • Design, develop, and integrate reusable software safety tooling such as fault injection and traceability as well as static analysis, coverage, and other quality tooling
  • Adapt and tune software safety and quality tooling settings and integration in CI to meet the needs of the development program
  • Enable AD/ADAS subteams to understand and improve software safety and quality through high-touch engagement with AD/ADAS domain experts
  • Identify build and infrastructure improvements that improve developer efficiency
  • Be a self-driven leader, stay abreast of current best software practices, and mentor other engineers
  • Proficiency with shell scripts, C/C++, Python, bazel, git, Linux, and continuous integration
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Ability to operate effectively and autonomously across multiple teams, and navigate technical ambiguity with only high-level direction
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
  • Generalist attitude with proven ability to dive deep fast and willingness to learn continuously
  • Ability to evaluate approaches and make correct tradeoffs
  • Experience with automotive software, ideally ADAS or other safety-critical software.
  • Experience with ISO 26262, UL 4600, IEC 61508, DO-178C, or other similar safety standards.
  • Familiarity with generic programming/generic C/C++ libraries.
  • Experience with developing/maintaining build configuration.
