About the Role
~1 min readAs a Website Backend Developer at Wrike, you will own the backend development of our global marketing website and related internal tools. Your work will power key customer-facing experiences, enable marketing and business teams to operate efficiently, and directly support Wrike’s growth by ensuring our web infrastructure is scalable, secure, and optimized for performance and SEO.
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services for Wrike’s website, admin panels, and internal tools.
- Build and enhance components in our CMS and component management system.
- Develop and improve internal tools for managing incoming requests from marketing and other business stakeholders.
- Implement and optimize REST APIs to support website features and integrations.
- Contribute to SEO-oriented backend solutions that drive traffic and conversion.
- Proactively identify, propose, and implement technical improvements to increase performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring high code quality, consistency, and adherence to best practices.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of production web development experience.
- Strong experience with PHP and Laravel (experience with YII2 or Symfony is a plus).
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, OOP, SQL, and Git.
- Proven experience working on SEO-oriented web projects.
- Ability to architect web applications and tools independently, from concept to deployment.
- Experience developing admin panels or content management systems.
- Hands-on participation in collaborative code review processes.
- User experience with advanced AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Codex).
- Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue), HTTP requests, and TypeScript.
- Background in performance optimization for high-traffic websites.
- Practical application of engineering principles such as KISS, DRY, and SOLID in day-to-day work.
- General understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) processes and pipelines.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

You will join the Web Team, which is part of Wrike’s Business Development department. The team is organized into two Scrum teams composed of frontend engineers, backend engineers, QA, and designers. You will be a backend developer within one of these cross-functional squads, collaborating closely with marketing, customer-facing, HR, and other internal teams that rely on our websites, web tools, and admin panels. You’ll work in an environment that values openness, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Methodologies: Scrum, with clear goals set via OKRs.
- Backend: PHP 8.4, Laravel.
- Frontend/CMS: Twill CMS + Vue.js.
- Infrastructure: MySQL, Nginx.
- Additional Services: Several microservices and standalone projects using Node.js.
