ABOUT US

Zivid is one of Norway's most ambitious new technology companies, serving the global robotics market with our 3D computer vision solutions. Our innovative 3D cameras, serving as the eyes of robots, are essential in automating manufacturing and logistics worldwide. With nearly 100 employees, offices in six countries, and a diverse global customer base, Zivid is shaping the future of machine vision and robotics.

We are looking for a Software Engineer for our Infrastructure team to add capacity to our team.  The Infrastructure team builds and maintains the foundation that enables all Zivid developers to move fast, safely, and with confidence. This role requires you to be on-site, with an expectation of being present in the office several days per week.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hands-on developer role, combining deep technical work with system installation, lab maintenance, testing, CI troubleshooting and close collaboration with developers. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our CI/CD systems, test infrastructure, internal tooling, and automation, ensuring scalability and robustness as our developer organization grows. You’ll help the team take ownership of the systems that power everything from build pipelines to hardware-in-the-loop testing, while guiding long-term strategy for how we scale CI/CD and developer experience across Zivid.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and scale our CI/CD setup (GitHub Actions, Docker, self-hosted runners) with 40+ on-premises runners/hosts.
  • Integrating embedded systems and hardware into our CI pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with software, firmware, and vision teams to ensure frictionless integration.

Please write your cover letter without the use of AI tools. We're looking for your own voice and perspective. That is what helps us understand whether you and the role are a good fit.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience with on-premises infrastructure (servers or consumer hardware, storage, network).
  • Deep understanding of build pipelines, Docker, GitHub Actions/Jenkins/GitLab CI, and modern DevOps tooling.
  • Strong coding skills in Python and Shell scripting, C/C++ is a plus.
  • Mindset for developer enablement, building systems that empower autonomous teams.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, scaling, and optimizing build/test infrastructure.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience.

IT'S A PLUS IF YOU HAVE

  • Understanding of one or more traditional C++ or embedded build systems (Make, CMake, Meson etc).
  • Strong background in testing embedded or hardware-related software within CI is a plus.
  • Understanding of more large scale build systems (Bazel, Pants, Buck2, etc.)
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Chef, Terraform, Ansible) and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Nomad).
  • Experience with virtualization/cluster management platforms (Proxmox) is a plus.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure).
  • Experience with virtualization of Windows machines on Linux host using Vagrant.
  • Familiarity with developer experience and productivity tooling at scale.
  • Experience with mono-repos and handling LFS at scale

WE OFFER

  • Build the backbone enabling world-class 3D vision systems from Oslo.
  • Shape how we build, test, and release software and firmware for robotics.
  • Work with real hardware and complex system interactions.
  • Enjoy a friendly, inclusive, and passionate engineering culture.
  • Competitive compensation package, including sign-on stock options, competitive pension scheme and premium health insurance.
  • Social events like climbing, running, cage ball, movie night, and company cabin trips.
  • Excellent workplace canteen.
