Are you passionate about both the aesthetic beauty of games and the complex logic that brings them to life? Zynga is looking for a Technical Artist Intern to join the team that brings to life one of many beloved games in a fast-moving, supportive, and energetic environment.
As a Technical Artist Intern, you are the crucial liaison between Engineering and Art. You’ll collaborate with designers, animators, and software engineers to build beautiful, optimized game content that impacts millions of players daily. Under the guidance of industry veterans, you will gain hands-on experience in a live game environment.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Integrate 2D/3D assets, animations, and VFX into Unity, ensuring technical excellence.
- →Handle rigging and skinning for characters and props within the production pipeline.
- →Develop and maintain tools/scripts (C#, Python) to automate workflows and streamline production.
- →Optimize textures, meshes, and shaders to maximize visual quality on mobile platforms.
- →Collaborate across disciplines (Art, Dev, QA) to resolve technical constraints and integration issues.
Requirements
~1 min read- Familiarity with Unity (preferred) or Unreal Engine.
- Knowledge of Scripting (C#, Python), Rigging, and the 3D art pipeline.
- Proficiency in tools like Maya, Photoshop, and Visual Studio.
- Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Shader Authoring: Experience with HLSL, GLSL, or node-based shader tools (e.g., Unity Shader Graph).
- Unity Animations & NGUI: Familiarity with Unity animation systems and NGUI samples is encouraged.
- Cameras, Lighting & Shaders: Clear understanding of cameras, lighting, and shader workflows in Unity.
- Portfolio / GitHub: Showcase personal game projects, custom tools, or scripts you have built — please include your portfolio in the application.
- Industry Passion: Familiarity with Zynga's catalog of games and passion for the mobile gaming industry.
