Responsibilities

→Follow safe work behaviors and look out for hazards
→Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair and maintain mechanical equipment, systems or processes on slitters, extruders, web systems, conveyors, winders, compressors and pumps
→Machine and fabricate parts
→Weld, braze, rig and tram equipment and general building repair
→Recommend equipment improvements to optimize performance and efficiency
→Create a positive, inclusive work environment
→Document completed work in an electronic logbook.

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Two (2) year associates degree OR be within 6 months of obtaining an associate’s degree in a mechanical maintenance or electro-mechanic field including Mechatronics Specialist and Automation Engineering

One-year technical diploma or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in mechanical maintenance field AND two (2) or more years of experience in maintenance field

Possess a High School Diploma or GED (completed before the start date) AND five (5) or more years of experience in maintenance/mechanic field
Reliable transportation to Menomonie, WI (54751), or relocation before starting
Completion of a job-related readiness assessment

Experience with manufacturing and/or manufacturing technology on web process equipment
Experience with welding fabrication and machine tool technology
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse audience
Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented work style
