As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and improving our manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, develop and implement process enhancements, and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for driving operational excellence. Here you will make an impact by:
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Develop and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to drive process improvements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address process issues and minimize defects.
- Monitor and analyze process performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in process engineering to drive innovation and best practices.
- Provide technical support and guidance to production teams to ensure smooth operations and adherence to process standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of a culture of operational excellence.
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
- Three (3) years of process engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment
Requirements

- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, process optimization, and quality control principles
- Proficient in process analysis tools and techniques, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and statistical process control
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Continuous improvement mindset and a passion for driving operational excellence
