Product Engineer

As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for analyzing, optimizing, and improving our manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement, develop and implement process enhancements, and monitor performance metrics to drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for driving operational excellence. Here you will make an impact by:

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

• Develop and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to drive process improvements.

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address process issues and minimize defects.

• Monitor and analyze process performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

• Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.

• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in process engineering to drive innovation and best practices.

• Provide technical support and guidance to production teams to ensure smooth operations and adherence to process standards.

• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of a culture of operational excellence.

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

• Three (3) years of process engineering experience in a private, public, government or military environment

• Three (3+) years of experience in manufacturing

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, process optimization, and quality control principles

• Proficient in process analysis tools and techniques, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and statistical process control

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Continuous improvement mindset and a passion for driving operational excellence
