Qualified Behavior Interventionist- Elementary (2026-2027 School Year)

• →Provides behavioral leadership and staff development focused on evidence-based behavioral practices.
• →Modeling of evidenced-based behavior supports while working directly with students.
• →Coaching, consulting and collaborating with staff and building administrator(s) on evidenced-based positive behavior supports put in place for individual students.
• →Assists in identifying, acquiring and organizing available resources for students and staff.
• →Collects, analyzes, and utilizes behavioral data, to identify and implement strategies to drive positive behavioral changes.
• →Collaborates with Child Study Team Members, and classroom teachers as part of Individual Problem-Solving Process.
• →Identifies behavioral escalation and implements effective de-escalation strategies.
• →Seeks to minimize student exclusionary discipline by identifying students with high behavioral needs and providing targeted student specific interventions.
• →Monitor staff fidelity to Behavior Intervention Plans.
• →Observe staff implementing interventions for procedural accuracy.

• Must be able to walk long distances
• Respond rapidly in emergency situations
• Stand for long periods of time
• Bend, twist, balance, stoop, climb steps, reach overhead, lift, push, pull up to 20 pounds or more with assistance
• Work five days a week, up to seven hours or more per day, or as assigned
• Must be able to complete the required Crisis prevention training (physical skills)

• Background knowledge and experience in teaching students
• Familiar with District standards and assessments
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

• Heavy contact with staff and students
• Will be working with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy
• Must exhibit a professional manner and maintain a positive attitude with all students and colleagues

• In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave.
• Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator
• All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of USD 259 and is appropriate for their position

• Kansas Teaching license, School Counseling License, or have a Social Work license
• 3 to 5 years of teaching experience preferred
• Valid Kansas Driver's License required
• Bachelor's Degree required
