The HR Generalist supports the delivery and implementation of HR programmes across core functional areas. The role provides operational support and first-line guidance to employees and managers on HR policies and processes.
Working closely with the HR Manager, HR Business Partners, and Centres of Excellence, the HR Generalist ensures efficient HR service delivery, supports day-to-day HR activities, and contributes to a positive employee experience. The role will also support HR processes, maintain HR systems and data, and assist with HR projects, reporting, and coordination activities.
Responsibilities

Support the delivery of cyclical HR processes (e.g. performance management, merit reviews, headcount tracking)

Support Abbott Ireland continuous improvement projects and activities
- →
Address queries to the shared HR inbox and escalate accordingly where required
- →
Maintain accurate employee data within HR systems and support reporting requirements
- →
Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
- →
Point of contact for employee and manager queries, providing timely and accurate guidance on HR policies and procedures

Support HR administrative activities and ensure documentation is up to date and compliant
- →
Support HR projects and initiatives through coordination, tracking, and administrative support
- →
Assist with data collection, reporting, and analysis to support HR and business objectives
- →
Collaborate with HR colleagues and Centres of Excellence to ensure effective delivery of HR services

Support the coordination of talent management activities, including performance management and development processes
- →
Provide administrative and organisational support for training and development initiatives
- →
Support the delivery of employee engagement initiatives and activities
- →
Assist in promoting a positive organisational culture through HR programmes and communications

Support change initiatives through coordination, communication, and administrative support
- →
Support the administration and preparation of employee relations cases (e.g. documentation, meeting coordination, note taking)

Ensure consistent application of HR policies and escalate complex issues to HR Manager / HRBP as appropriate
Third level qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline and/or working towards CIPD membership
Relevant experience in an HR support or generalist role
Exposure to core HR areas such as employee relations, HR operations, and employee lifecycle processes
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity
Ability to build effective working relationships with employees and managers
Organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to escalate appropriately
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in HR systems and Microsoft Office tools
