Short Term Insurance Property Claims Consultant (Homeowners Insurance)

Job Summary

• Manage end-to-end homeowners building claims, ensuring timely and accurate assessment, validation, and settlement of claims.
• Investigate and evaluate claims in line with policy terms, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with policyholders, assessors, contractors, brokers, and service providers to facilitate efficient claim resolution.
• Provide exceptional customer service by guiding clients through the claims process and managing expectations throughout the claim lifecycle.
• Review supporting documentation, quotations, and assessment reports to determine claim validity and settlement recommendations.
• Negotiate claim settlements within delegated authority limits while balancing customer outcomes and risk management principles.
• Identify and escalate potentially fraudulent, complex, or high-risk claims in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Maintain accurate claim records and documentation on relevant systems and platforms.
• Contribute to the achievement of operational, customer experience, and quality assurance targets.

• Proven experience in short-term insurance claims, specifically homeowners/building claims.
• Strong knowledge of policy wording, claims assessment, and claims management principles.
• Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Customer-focused with the ability to handle complex and sensitive claims professionally.
• FAIS compliance and relevant insurance qualifications advantageous.Claims assessment: Assess and/or process claims following standard operating procedures | Customer Experience: Handle all customer interactions professionally and efficiently | Ad Hoc duties: Provide support to customers and team as required to ensure team performance on an ongoing basis | Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all team activities are in adherence to relevant control and compliance requirements, and quality standards
