The VMware Expert will act as the primary technical authority for the management, optimization, and lifecycle of the core on-premises virtualization platform and hybrid cloud infrastructure. This role ensures high availability of the compute platform, maintains hybrid identity systems, and administers the Azure landing zone environment to support seamless application deployments.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of VMware vSphere 8 environments across multi-cluster, single-vCenter infrastructure.
• Manage enterprise server environments, ensuring high availability by collaborating with hardware vendors and on-site engineers.
• Support hybrid identity and lifecycle management in Active Directory (on-premises and Azure), including Windows 11 and Windows Server VM templates.
• Collaborate with Storage, Backup, and Network teams to ensure optimal integration and performance of infrastructure components.
• Administer Azure environments within a multi-subscription landing zone, including compute, networking, logging, and backup services.
• Support application teams with deployment planning, execution, and troubleshooting across Windows and Linux systems in hybrid environments.

Flexible: The work location for this role may include a mix of working remotely (most of the time), onsite at a client or in an Accenture office - depending on specific project circumstances With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders, and communities. • 3+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi administration, including deployment, operations, and troubleshooting (vSphere 8 preferred).
• Experience with enterprise server hardware platforms (e.g., Dell PowerEdge, Primergy, or equivalent vendor systems).
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory in hybrid environments, including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Windows Server (2016+) administration.
• Understanding of IP networking principles and foundational knowledge of SAN (Fibre Channel) environments.
• Ability to support both Windows and Linux systems in enterprise environments.

• Practical experience managing Azure Compute services and cloud environments; familiarity with Azure administration tools.
• Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification or equivalent experience.
• Advanced Linux administration or troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in complex, multi-subscription cloud or large-scale enterprise environments.
