Location: Middletown, NY
Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour + Benefits package
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM (40hrs)
OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Pre-Voc Specialist II provides individualized pre-vocational services to individuals with developmental disabilities. The position supports clients in achieving valued outcomes and individualized service goals through meaningful individual and group activities, while maintaining required documentation in accordance with OPWDD regulations.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Provide individualized pre-vocational services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Assist clients in achieving valued outcomes and service goals.
Arrange and facilitate individual and group activities designed to support clients in achieving service goals.
Complete daily documentation of services provided in accordance with OPWDD regulations.
Prepare monthly summaries of client progress in accordance with OPWDD regulations.
Accurately record client attendance and program time in/time out.
Coordinate activities for clients during program downtime.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:
Promote a supportive and engaging program environment.
Support individuals in participating in activities that contribute to their individualized service goals.
Maintain accurate and timely program records as required.
Collaborate with program staff as needed to support client outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Ability to provide individualized support to clients.
Ability to organize and facilitate individual and group activities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with applicable regulations.
Bilingual English/Spanish speaking is a plus.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities required.
Education requirements: High School Diploma or GED preferred
