JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Physician – Cardiothoracic Surgery • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Langhorne, PA • Service Setting: Inpatient Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: Oct 5,2026 – Ongoing • Call Ratio: 1:3 (as needed) COVERAGE DATES • Start Date: October 5, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adult, Geriatric • Patient Volume/Census: Average number of cases varies; very few on weekends • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: Adult Cardiac Surgery, General Thoracic Surgery, Aortic Surgery, Coronary Artery Disease, Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms FACILITY INFORMATION • Trauma Level: Level II • EMR System: Epic • Support Staff Available: APP rounding support, Surgical PA • Reason for Coverage: Emergency staffing need PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (Emergency/Temp Privileges Available) COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: Submit best rate • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Flight and hotel covered; malpractice insurance covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) • Pericardial Window • Tube Thoracostomy • Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm Procedures • Aortic Surgery (varies based on patient needs) • General Thoracic Surgery Procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Pennsylvania License • Board: Board Certified in Cardio-thoracic Surgery • DEA: Active DEA Required • Certifications: BLS, ACLS • Experience: Fellowship Training Required • Other Qualifications: Local candidates preferred DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide Cardio-thoracic surgery coverage in a hospital-based setting • Perform adult cardiac and general thoracic surgical procedures • Manage cardio-thoracic surgery consultations and patient care • Round on assigned patients with APP and Surgical PA support • Participate in call coverage on an as-needed 1:3 rotation • Evaluate and treat patients requiring CABG, aortic surgery, pericardial window procedures, tube thoracostomy, and thoracic aneurysm management • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
