JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: A-MD-70633 Profession: Physician Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Boise, ID Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Period: Oct 12, 2026 – Nov 02, 2026 Coverage Type: Call only Call Schedule: 24-hr call; 7a-7a PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult/Geriatric Average Daily Volume: 3 consults, 1-2 surgeries Case Mix: Adult cardiac surgery, general thoracic surgery, aortic dissection, CABG, tube thoracostomy, pericardial window, thoracotomy lung resections, pneumonectomy, heart valve repair/replacement, dissection, VA + VV ECMO placement FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 10-bed CVICU, 16-bed step-down EMR: Epic PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (5 days) Credentialing Timeline: 5 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Adult cardiac surgery General thoracic surgery Aortic dissection CABG Tube thoracostomy Pericardial window Thoracotomy lung resections and pneumonectomy Heart valve repair/replacement surgery Dissection VA + VV ECMO placement JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC in Cardiothoracic Surgery (ABTS or ABS) Licenses: Active Idaho License Active DEA Certification Certifications: ACLS, BLS Experience: Completion of ACGME/AOA residency and CT fellowship Other Qualifications: Clean background, no malpractice history, ability to obtain privileges Must be available to cover significant shifts between 10/12-11/2 Duties & Responsibilities Perform adult cardiac surgeries including CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic dissection repair Perform general thoracic surgeries including thoracotomy lung resections, pneumonectomy, tube thoracostomy Manage VA and VV ECMO placement and management Participate in 24-hour on-call coverage for cardiothoracic emergencies Collaborate with APPs, perfusionists, and OR staff to ensure high-quality patient care
