JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Lebanon, VA • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 08/01/2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 7:00a – 7:00p; 7:00p – 7:00a PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults and Geriatrics • Patient Volume/Census: TBD • Admissions: Included • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: Emergency Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 53 Acute Care Beds including 5 ICU/PCU beds • EMR System: Epic • Specialty Backup Available: Tele-support for admissions and floor call • Support Staff Available: 1 MD on Days; 1 MD on Nights • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rates: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: TBD REQUIRED PROCEDURES • No required procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active unrestricted VA Medical License • Board: BC in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine • DEA: Active DEA with VA address and applicable schedules • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required if not BC in EM or EM trained • Certifications: NRP required for non-ABEM providers • Experience: EM residency graduates within the past 12 months may be considered • Experience: 3-month proctorship required for new graduates • Other Qualifications: Graduate of accredited MD or DO program • Other Qualifications: Completion of ACGME/AOA approved residency in EM, FM, or IM • Other Qualifications: ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates • Other Qualifications: Case logs required for the last two years • Other Qualifications: Required to supervise NP and PA providers • Other Qualifications: Telehealth experience not required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency medicine coverage for scheduled 12-hour shifts • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency department patients • Collaborate with tele-support team for admissions and floor call • Supervise nurse practitioners and physician assistants • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR
