Data, Integrations & Automations Developer (m/f/d)

adlicious GmbH builds technology to enable and improve how digital advertising works while at the same time trying to improve the user experience and significantly enhance consumer privacy (e.g. no tracking) relative to the industry standard.

We work with, rather than against, the advertising ecosystem and this means integrating the best in-class off-the-shelf technologies suitable to our purpose and building new technology when necessary. This hybrid rather than do-it-all approach means we can move faster and try to focus on building things that have the potential to be game changers for our business, advertisers and consumers.

In addition to advertising technology, adlicious provides services to advertisers and agencies that need support operating and optimizing their advertising campaigns, creatives, and marketing strategy.

This role is based in Hamburg, Germany. You should already have permission to live/work in Germany where our primary services operations office is located.

You will embed within our advertising services teams and be paired with experienced members of those teams. They will help you to learn how/why various service operations are being done the way they are, what are the pain points and inefficiencies? Together you will work to plan and develop solutions to streamline, automate and improve workflows. You should make technical and data architecture decisions keeping in mind the requirement to connect AI agents to these new systems in a way that enables control, transparency and data privacy (where relevant).

You will be supported by our small software development team that works on other problem areas in the business (adservers, UIs, auction systems and other technical components used by the services teams).

• You should be an independent senior developer interested in learning about the advertising business domain, analytical and able to propose architecture for moderately complex systems.
• You should be self-organized, a good communicator, detail oriented, and able to reliably set and meet expectations.
• You are capable of independent problem solving, good component architecture and producing high quality, well-tested code.

• 5+ years of experience doing professional software development
• Attention to detail.
• Responsible for your own work.
• Proficiency using Git.
• German - important in order to properly embed with the services teams in Hamburg
• English - important because the rest of the development team is international
• Node.js. You know how the event loop works, streams, asynchronous programming, deal with errors, events. We also work with python, erlang, rust and go depending on the project, but nodejs is our dominant environment.
• Solid relational database knowledge: Modern sql, how is data indexed, stored procedures, transactions
• Multiple experiences integrating complex third-party APIs in a robust way (e.g. rate limiting, oauth token management, version management and upgrade processes)
• Linux.
• Basic shell scripting.
• Willingness to learn.
• Experience with CRMs, ERPs, project management and related systems is very nice to have.
