~1 min read- Performs decontamination, disinfection, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and infection prevention standards.
- Operates sterilization equipment, verifies sterilization parameters, reviews sterilizer records, and ensures all instrument sets contain required sterility indicators and tracking documentation before release for patient care.
- Accurately assembles complex instrument trays and surgical sets, maintaining inventory integrity and documenting activities in tracking systems and required records.
- Monitors sterilization quality processes, maintains logs and documentation, initiates recall procedures for sterilization failures, and escalates issues to leadership as appropriate.
- Collaborates with hospital departments, supports training and onboarding of team members, and rotates across decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and equipment management functions to support departmental operations.
- Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required]
- Ability to understand the needs of the customer and respond to them in a pro-active, courteous, professional, and efficient manner. [Required]

- Ability to work under stress and deadlines. [Required]
- Medical terminology [Required]
- Understanding of the principles of microbiology, aseptic principles and techniques, and infection control as they apply to sterile supply operation. [Required]
- Basic knowledge of prevention of cross contamination and the critical nature of nosocomial infections. [Required]
- Knowledge of the use, operation, maintenance, assembly, disassembly and cleaning requirements of the full range of instruments and equipment. [Required]
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- in healthcare sterile processing
- Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) [Required] OR
