What We Offer

- Adheres to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Facilitates communication and collaboration within the department to enhance workflow and efficiency.
- Transports contaminated and sterile surgical instruments and supplies to and from operating rooms and patient care areas.
- Decontaminates and inspects surgical instruments for cleanliness and defects to ensure patient safety.
- Keeps instruments and supplies organized and in designated locations to maintain department cleanliness and productivity.
- Inspects and assembles instrument trays according to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
- Serves as a resource expert and mentor for less experienced Sterile Processing staff.
- Monitors sterilization practices to ensure compliance with standards and keeps accurate records of sterilizer loads.
- Utilizes knowledge of sterilization parameters and takes corrective action if parameters are not met.
- Attends continuing education seminars and in-services on new equipment and instrumentation to maintain competency.
- Participates or leads in department Performance Improvement projects.
- Knowledge of Sterilization Standards [Required]
- Knowledge of Surgical Instrumentation [Required]
- Knowledge and practice of infectious control techniques and medical terminology [Required]
- Basic Computer skills [Preferred]
- Associate [Preferred]
- High School Grad or Equiv [Preferred]
- Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
- Eighteen (18) months Sterile Processing experience - Maintains educational requirements as outlined in the organizational checklists [Required]
- Certified Registered Central Service Tech (CRCST) [Required] OR
- Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) [Required] AND
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Preferred]
